GentleWave®

Waterfront Endodontics | Gentlewave ProviderWaterfront Endodontics | Gentlewave ProviderEffectively cleaning the deepest, most complex portions1,2 of the root canal system requires incredible innovation—and we are proud to offer that technology with the GentleWave® Procedure.

The GentleWave Procedure is a state-of-the-art alternative to standard root canal treatment. The ultracleaning technology of the GentleWave Procedure is an advanced combination of fluid dynamics and a broad range of soundwaves that work together to reach into the microscopic spaces1,2 and remove bacteria, debris and tissue.2 The GentleWave Procedure is so effective at cleaning and disinfecting the root canal system, there's less chance of failure over time.3

The GentleWave Procedure uses a minimally invasive1 protocol to access the infected root canal system, which means it is preserving more of the natural tooth and, in doing so, is helping to keep the tooth’s structure strong. With the GentleWave Procedure we can also typically clean and fill the tooth in just one appointment,3 which may reduce the number of appointments required.

Achieving an exceptional level of clean requires advanced endodontics—and that’s something we take pride in providing. Contact us today to discover the GentleWave Difference for yourself.

Innovative Root Canal Technology May Help Protect Patients from COVID-19

With the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, you may worry about going into the endodontist office for a root canal procedure. Besides being nervous about having a “root canal” done, you might be concerned about leaving your home, or fear the potential for viral exposure from other patients, endodontists, or their staff.

Even prior to the pandemic, dentists had a good track record on infection control. We have used many safeguards to protect our patients, such as rubber dams that limit aerosol emission during treatment and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Healthcare agencies such as the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association and the Centers for Disease Control have called for additional measures in light of the virus, which our practice has adopted, such as extra PPE, more frequent cleaning of treatment rooms, new air filtration and social distancing.

One of the technologies our practice has integrated is the GentleWave procedure for cleaning and disinfection of root canals, which offers several benefits during this time of COVID-19:

  • The GentleWave procedure is generally performed in our office in one visit,1 minimizing the inconvenience of a two-visit procedure, and thereby reducing a patient’s potential exposure to COVID-19.
  • The GentleWave Procedure helps preserve more of the tooth structure,2,5 giving patients the opportunity to save their natural tooth3
  • There is virtually no aerosol released during the GentleWave procedure.4 According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), some endodontic instruments create a visible spray that can contain particle droplets of water, saliva, blood, microorganisms, and other debris. Because the GentleWave system is a “closed-loop” system, this means it is designed to release virtually no aerosolized material into the air.
  • Instruments used during the GentleWave procedure are pre-sterilized and used only on an individual patient, eliminating any potential for cross-contamination between patients.

The minimally-invasive GentleWave procedure uses acoustic energy to activate cleaning solutions deep into the microscopic anatomy of the tooth, effectively removing tissue and debris that cause infection.2,5 Many patients – especially those who have undergone standard root canal treatments in the past – describe the GentleWave experience as comfortable and report minimal to no post procedure pain.3

The best dentist visit I have ever had! Everybody was fabulous and made me feel very welcome and comfortable. I can't thank you all enough for everything that you have done for me and fixing my tooth!

Klickitat Patient

Dr. Chapman has the softest hands I have ever experienced. This along with his Dalai Lama-esque delivery had an extremely calming effect on me.

Hood River Patient

I will be pleased to provide a positive recommendation - you were all very professional and put me at ease (well, as much as I can be, given my dental anxiety :)).

North Bonneville Patient

Went the extra mile to squeeze me in on an emergency basis. All is well. Thanks!

Arlington Patient

A great experience overall. I was greeted by name by the front office staff. The assistant was very professional and courteous. Dr. Chapman was responsive in treating any discomfort I felt. When I left the insurance billing was explained to me and I was welcome to contact them with any questions. I received a follow-up phone call the next day to see how I was doing.

The Dalles Patient

This is the place to go - people are awesomely caring spirits - oh, the work Dr. Chapman did was superior too!!!

The Dalles Patient

One of the best dental/endodontic procedures I've ever experienced. I felt totally relaxed and as comfortable as a person undergoing dental work can be. Dr. Chapman and the entire staff were great. 10 out of 10 Rah-Rah points. Would highly recommend his service for anyone needing to have an endodontic procedure. Waterfront Endodontics rocks!

The Dalles Patient

Kudos to Dr and staff for fully explaining what was going to happen and for the follow-up. Very professional. The" what was going to happen" portion was accomplished so I would understand and the follow-up was an unexpected surprise. Taking time to call and make sure that everything was okay was very nice. Appreciate all that was done.

The Dalles Patient

Thanks for showing me the photos of the tooth, it helps to see the cause of my pain.
